GRANTS INFORMATION SESSION (GIS)

The Sponsored Programs Office is pleased to invite you to attend any and all of the following sessions:

KEYNOTE ADDRESS: 1:30 – 2:30 PM (Cardinal Hall B)
Dr. Richard Dunfee, Executive Director of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities’ Grants Resource Center will share his insights on emerging issues in higher education grants, federal funding trends, and provide illustrations of successful proposal development strategies.

KNOWLEDGE UNIT MEET & GREET: 2:30 – 3:00 PM (Cardinal Hall A)
A variety of centers and institutes on campus create an environment of dynamic thinking that fosters interdisciplinary research and collaboration - factors that are pivotal in externally funded projects. Join us at this networking event to learn about the work of these Knowledge Units and explore potential opportunities for collaboration. Knowledge and Support Units include:

Grant Writing 101 (Cardinal Hall B)
New to grant writing? Not sure how to get started? Join Dr. Richard Dunfee to learn specific strategies to establish your funding agenda and launch your career in grantsmanship.

Fulbright Information Session (Music Lounge)
Dr. Dominic Caristi, Professor of Telecommunications and Mr. Justin Miller, Director of Sponsored Programs will present Fulbright Scholar Program offerings for teaching & research awards in over 125 countries. The core Fulbright Scholar Program sends 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year. Grantees lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields.

Federal Funding Opportunities for PUI’s (Forum Room)
Ms. Jackie Davis, SPO Proposal Manager will discuss federal funding opportunities available to Predominately Undergraduate Institutions (PUI). Learn how to play to Ball State’s strengths as a PUI and pursue grants such the National Institutes of Health AREA or the National Science Foundation RUI grant.
